*We were at the Dr. for his 9 month appointment, and they had to prick his heel to do a blood test for his iron levels. At first I thought he'd cry, so I had the binkie ready. But he instead just looked very curiously as the nurse lifted his heel and pricked it. I love his "I'm curious" face! He just stared as she drew the blood, and placed a bright Snoopy bandaid on his heel, and then she left. He proceeded to pick at the bandaid, and I wouldn't let him. Then my phone rang. It took me 15 seconds to bend down, answer it, and be done... In that time, Zack had ripped the bandaid off his foot and was eating it by the time I was done! So I got it from him and threw it away. It wasn't until then that he actually cried!
*Continuing on with the Dr. visit, when the Dr. came in, he let Zack eat one of his tongue depressors to keep Zack entertained while he checked him. Then he borrowed Zack's "new toy" to check his throat, then casually threw it away. Zack began to bawl, and the Dr. just stared, wondering what was up. It didn't take him too long though to figure out what he'd done. He quickly got out another tongue depressor. Zack immediately stopped crying, waved his hands in excitement, and grabbed the stick from the Dr. We all had a good laugh!

*Zack has turned in to quite the crazy sleeper. The other day I stayed home from work to be with him while he was sick, and I heard him whining and talking as he woke up from his nap. I let him go for a minute to see if he was just talking in his sleep, or if he was really awake... When I decided he was up, I went into his room. All I saw was his two little feet poking out of the crib bars! He'd gotten himself stuck there and couldn't wiggle himself enough to get himself all the way back in his crib! I'm so angry I didn't take a picture... But at least I have the memory of it! :)
*About a week ago, Zack was taking a bath. I sat there thinking how lucky I am that nothing too huge and traumatic has happened with this boy, such as pooping in the tub. I then thought, "Well, I'm sure I'll have that experience later on down the road." Not even 10 seconds after I had that thought, I heard a funny noise come from my child. We laughed at the bubbles it caused, then immediately got out of the tub when we realized Zack had left more than BUBBLES in the tub. Yup, don't ever think you've escaped something, because your kid is proven to prove you wrong within seconds of time! Thanks Clayton for cleaning the tub that night! :)
*We've been encouraging Zack to crawl for quite a while now, and he is SO close! One day I noticed that he'd been up on his knees at one minute, and the next time I looked he was a few feet away from where he was. So I started paying closer attention. I then discovered that my child does know how to crawl....BACKWARDS! I hear this is quite common, but I'd never heard of kids learning to crawl backwards first until it was my own child! I'm sure there will be a big post the day he moves forward... But until then, at least he's going somewhere!

*He's done this for me a few times, and I think it's cute! He has a few monkey toys, so I was playing with him and making monkey noises. After I'd say "Oo oo oo oo AH AH AH!" He giggles and says, "Ah! Ah! Ah!" He's learning to make his own monkey noises and it makes me laugh!

i love the zack stories! love it! you should create a shutterfly book and everyday or week that you have pictures or stories log on and fill a page, until you're ready to have it printed! We've started one for Jo. Its going to be pregnancy through the first year. I uploaded our ultrasound pictures and keep little journal notes in it of when i felt her for the first time, recent cravings, etc.
