Happy Mother's Day

Everyone has to have their Mother's Day post, including me! How convenient that my son just a few days before Mother's Day... I'd like to say I planned it that way, but then I would be a liar! :) But I did have a great day.
It was really just another day, which is fine. I had my mom here for most of the day which was really fun and helpful. We just hung out. Nothing grand, seeing as I'm still recovering and felt a bit crummy. But it was nice to have my mom with me just the same! After she left (which was quite sad!) Our friends came over to see Zackary, and then Clayton gave me my mother's day gift. He's been so excited about it, but obviously wouldn't tell me what it was. It was pretty big, so he had to help me open it. He is so in tune to me! He remembers the little things I say and I just love him! I've mentioned in the past that I wanted a really big clock... I don't know what it is, but I am just drawn to clocks! Well, I don't have to want anymore...

He said he saw it and couldn't pass it up and knew that I had to have it! :) And he's right... I absolutely love it! It's beautiful, and the fact that it reminds us that our new family IS forever is PERFECT! I love Clayton and he is so amazing. But the best Mother's Day gift I received... Well, that Clayton and I received is this one right here:

Our beautiful baby boy, which has allowed me to even be a mother. What a huge responsibility and blessing our Heavenly Father has given me to be a mother of this perfect little boy.
I'm so thankful for my own mom. She is truly and incredible woman. I have learned so much from her about being a mother and I can't wait to try and apply them. She is one of my best friends and I love her dearly. She is a great grandmother, and I can't wait to see what kind of a bond her and Zackary will grow to share. I wish I could fully express my appreciation and love for my mom. She has always been such an example to me in every aspect. She is a woman of strength and values and I love her SO MUCH! Her testimony is strong and she has always led our family and taught us righteous living in the gospel. I would not be who I am if it had not been for my mom. She was so sweet to stay with me my first week of motherhood and to be with me through my emotional breakdowns, successes and joys of having my boy. She is an inspiration to me and i can only hope to be half the mother that she has been for me.

And I also want to express my love for my dear, sweet Mother-in-Law. She is truly an outstanding woman, and I have looked up to her since the day I met her. She is very spiritual and is always striving to learn more about the gospel, which is something that I admire about her, and would like to aspire to doing nearly half as well as she does! She is very kind and generous and and very accepting of others. One of the best things about her is that she raised an INCREDIBLE son! I look forward to learning more about motherhood from her. I love Clayton with all my heart, and he would not be that man that I love if it had not been for her as a mother. I love getting closer to Valerie, and can't wait to see our boy become close with her as well.

I wish I was more eloquent with my words, and could truly express my love and respect for these women. But I hope I did them justice in the slightest... They are both incredible women and I love them very much. Happy belated Mother's Day, and thanks for helping in making my first a special one!

I absolutely love this post. I love your clock - and your mom even though I've never met her - and I love Clayton's mom a ton. But, it has got to be said that that is one of the cutest little baby boys I have ever seen. he is a DOLL! Congrats! And, happy mother's day!

I am so proud to be part of your little earthly family, and was so grateful to be there with you for little Zackary's entrance into this world. You will be great parents, and will have so many joys and great times being parents. We love you both and are so very happy for you. We will always be here for you whatever you may need. We love you all. He is a absolutely a beautiful baby boy.
