Back to School

Well, I have finally been able to sit down to the computer for a few short minutes and check out how everyone has been doing. I noticed that a lot of our friends and family have been sending their kids back to school, and getting excited about that. Well, this year, we sent Mommy back to school! I've been spending the past week trying to get to know the kids in my class, catching up with the ones from last year, and trying to get into the groove of things again! I forgot my camera the day I finally got my classroom set up, so I'll have to take it with me on Monday and take pictures of my room. I have decided to do a thorough clean up and wipe down of my room every Friday to help keep things organized and manageable all year. So pictures of my class room on Monday will be about the same as the first day of school! So sorry for the "picture-less post." I dislike it very much to have a post without a picture!
It has been hard to leave Zack everyday, but I'm doing better than I thought. I've been trying to go to the gym every night too, so the hardest part about this whole thing is that I only see my little boy for maybe 3-4 hours a day before he goes to bed for the night. But I am always sure to play with him and let him know that I still love him and that Mommy is home whenever I can and we play. I end up staying up a little late grading papers, but my baby needs his Mommy, and that is more important!
Things have been going well! I just thought I'd post about MY back to school experiences for everyone to see! I'm slowly growing more comfortable with my class. There are some funny kids in there and we are having fun! All is well. Clayton has been a GREAT help getting Zack fed and changed and off to Kyle and Heather's for the day (they are Clayton's cousins and very good friends). He helps out so much as I start out this year and as I finish out my teaching. If everything goes according to plan, this will be my last year so that I can stay home with Zack next year. He is a wonderful husband and I don't know what I'd do without him. He'll send me pictures of Zack if I have to stay at school late to make me happy, and to encourage me to come home just a bit faster. I couldn't make it without showing you a picture! So here is my cute little boy!

Everything is going great, and we'll keep you posted on the things that are going on here!

Im so glad that your new class is good! That makes ALL the difference! Im so sorry that you have to leave your little boy at home while you teach but I'm so glad that you make the most of your time with him when you are home. I know how you feel. When Ethan was born I was just starting up my 2 busiest semesters with cohort and student teaching. It's no fun to be away from home. I cant wait to see pics of your classroom!
